Spend the day exploring La Mancha, where Mediterranean landscapes of agricultural countryside are dotted with villages crowned by medieval castles and 17th century windmills.

La Mancha, the homeland of Don Quixote, has an immense wine heritage in both variety and quantity. La Mancha is responsible for producing most of the Spanish wine, from the table wines of the cooperatives to the Pago wines, which are the most qualified appellation of origin for a wine in Spain.

Bilingual guide, qualified winemaker and wine tourism specialist with a WSET Level 3 wine expert certification.

The first stop of the day is just an hour from Madrid. This modern winery has put La Mancha varieties such as Airén on the international wine podium. The winery is run by one of Spain's most prestigious winemakers. He is dedicated to dignifying the old vineyard and the traditional varieties of La Mancha. Before visiting the modern winery, the winemaker will take you to visit the historic family winery located in the heart of the city. Learn how wine was traditionally made in clay jars and the changes the wine industry has undergone during the 20th century.

It is time for lunch. We will taste the typical dishes of La Mancha in a restaurant that has managed to reinvent La Mancha cuisine with modern styles but preserving the essence of local ingredients.

After lunch, visit the old windmills of Consuegra and watch the sunset from the medieval castle from where you can see dozens of kilometers of vineyards and olive groves.

La Mancha is undoubtedly the mother of Spanish viticulture and today the cradle of some of the best representatives of Spanish wines. Let yourself be carried away to an ancestral territory where culture breathes wine in every village, family and plot.

Note: this itinerary may be subject to change according to winery availability, client preferences and the season of the year.
